CFN Co-Chair Laura Thompson Endorses Setti Warren for Mayor

Newton, August 27th – One day after a mayoral debate sponsored by Citizens for the Future of Newton (CFN) and Newton 20/20, CFN Co-Chair Laura Thompson endorsed Setti Warren for Mayor. Ms. Thompson is the Director of International Tax at a Boston-based financial services firm, where she manages a team of tax attorneys engaged in cross-border tax planning for the company and its investment funds. Ms. Thompson has lived in Newton since 1995 and recently served on the Citizen Advisory Group, working on the Revenue and School Costs analyses. A parent of two school-aged children, Ms. Thompson is active in the Franklin School PTO and is a Team Leader for Stand for Children.

“While serving on the CAG, I developed a deep appreciation not just of the City’s fiscal challenges, but also of how critical it is that our next Mayor possess superior leadership skills,” observed Thompson. “Setti Warren has both a thorough understanding of the challenges we face, and the knowledge, skills and passion necessary to move the City forward during what promises to be a time of great change.”
