NEWTON COMMUNITY LEADERS ENDORSE WARREN

For Immediate Release

Rob Gifford, Ald. Susan Albright, former Ald. Rodney Barker and Newton Schools Foundation Co-President Laurie Zinn declare their support

Newton – August 24th – The Setti Warren campaign announced today that several key community leaders have endorsed Setti Warren for Mayor. Rob Gifford, who recently suspended his own campaign for Alderman, joined Alderman and former School Committee Member Susan Albright, former Alderman and School Committee Member Rodney Barker and Newton Schools Foundation Co-President Laurie Zinn in backing Warren.

“Newton faces extraordinary challenges,” said Gifford. “Setti has the vision, know how and character to effectively tackle these challenges and to sustain and improve our schools, city services and village centers.”

Laurie Zinn added, "Setti is a true leader who will drive much needed change in Newton. Having a mayor who understands the importance that education plays in our community was a critical component of my endorsement of Setti Warren."

Barker cited Warren’s government management experience in explaining his choice. “It is clear that Setti’s ability to lead others through significant change will serve us well.”

"I am excited to support Setti because he has specific ideas about how to solve the problems facing our city,” said Albright. “Setti has the proven capacity to implement those solutions."

“I am honored to have these well known and highly regarded community leaders by my side in this campaign”, said Warren. “I look forward to their on-going counsel and support.”
