Letter to the Editor from Bill Brandel

I want to thank everyone who turned out and voted during last Tuesday’s preliminary election. As a city, we took another step forward to the next chapter in this city’s proud history.

Also, I want to thank each and every candidate for stepping up and running for mayor. It is no small thing to engage in all those debates, attend all those events and knock on all those doors. You and your campaigns all made this city a better place for weighing in and offering to serve us.

As a supporter of Setti Warren’s, I congratulate the Ruth Balser campaign for moving to the finals.

It is clear that this city will need strong leadership to attend to its various challenges and opportunities. As the weeks unfold, I invite you to get to know Setti Warren yourself. I believe that if you do, you will see that Setti possesses the fresh perspective and leadership that Newton needs to move us forward.
